Today May 28th the NHS Test and Trace System was launched in England, the UK Government recruite 20,000 tracers into the NHS to work in the program. The NHS Test and Trace program is being heralded by the Government and Boris Johnson as a program that will change peoples lives and bring the UK out of lockdown.

From today anyone showing symptoms of Covid19 is eligible for a test. Previously only key workers and their families who were showing symptoms of Covid19 were eligible for a test. However, from today anyone showing symptoms of Covid19 is required to isolate immediately for 2 weeks, along with all the other people living in their household and to book and appointment for a test

The NHS Test and Trace Team will contact the person, if the test is negative the person and their household will be able to come out of isolation. If the test is confirmed as positive the tracers will begin the process of tracing all the people the person has been in close contact with

Those people will be told to isolate and make an appointment for a test The issue with this is it is complete reliant on humans, should a person show symptoms but not acknowledge those symptoms and go for a test the system will fail.Other people are fearful they will be wrongly implicated meaning they would have to isolate, putting their jobs or businesses are risk
